Tough economic times have hit most of us and during these tough times, therapy tends to become a luxury item that people see as unaffordable. Unfortunately this happens at the exact time that help is needed most. YSB offers all services on a sliding fee scale and frequently helps families for as little as $5.00 per session, sometimes even less. We are proud to say that we’ve never turned away anyone for the inability to pay. We’re able to do this because of the help and support from people like you that care about kids in this community.

How you can make a difference:
There are so many ways in which you can help

  • Financial
    • You can provide scholarship money that helps youth from low income families. $50 can provide up to 10 sessions of counseling or cover the entire cost of a 10-week therapy group.
    • Your financial contribution can also help counselors purchase journals, magazines, and other therapeutic tools that help connect with troubled youth.
  • Gift Certificates
    • Look around for gift cards that you haven't used up yet. Gift cards to local stores and restaurants can be used to purchase counseling supplies or meals and hygiene items for runaway or homeless youth.
    • Next time you're at the store, purchase a gift card from the cashier on behalf of YSB. Any amount helps!
  • Supplies
    • Due to difficult financial times, we are looking for new ways to maintain our office needs such as paper, file cabinets, file folders, pens, etc. Contributing to our office supply needs allows us to maintain quality focus on the youth!
  • Fundraising
    • Each year we hold two bike auction/garage sales. Look around the house for items you feel would be desirable for our garage sale. If you have any bikes that aren't getting full use, let us take them off your hands. You're supporting youth simply by cleaning house!

Your donation stays local, helping youth and families in DeKalb County and makes a difference that benefits our whole community. Your generosity makes a difference every day, by providing youth with the opportunities to live healthy, productive and meaningful lives.
